Mr. Powers is theDistrict Manager with PPM’s Baton Rouge office. Mr. Powers has over 36 years of experience as a geologist. Mr. Powers supervises a staff of engineers, geologists, toxicologists, and environmental professionals responsible for projects involving air/water/waste permitting, subsurface soil and groundwater investigations, groundwater monitoring events, corrective action plans, and remediation of sites impacted by petroleum hydrocarbon, chlorinated solvents, and heavy metals contamination. Mr. Powers serves as a senior project manager and senior geologist over environmental site investigations, subsurface soil and groundwater remediation projects, risk evaluation projects, property transfer environmental assessments, and groundwater monitoring projects. Additionally, Mr. Powers has extensive experience with industrial development of greenfield sites.; his experience includes regulary and public commeunications, air permitting, water permitting, Army Corps of Engineers permitting, Coastal Use permitting, Levee Distict permitting, Department of Transportation permitting, Department of Health and Hospital permitting, Parish and City permitting, Council meeting presentations, wetland delineations, cultural resource surveys, etc. Other responsibilities include training of technical personnel and participation in training manual preparation. Projects managed by Mr. Powers are tracked using state of the art management software throughout the life of the project. Project team members and the client are informed of the progress of the project through regular project status repots. Mr. Powers is familiar with Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) protocol, Louisiana Department of Environmental Quality, Risk Evaluation/Corrective Action Program (RECAP), and Quality Assurance/Quality Control (QA/QC) procedures.
