The International Liquid Terminals Association will hold its annual conference and trade show June 12 through 14 in Houston, Texas.
This annual event draws thousands of terminal industry professionals for networking and to hear from leading experts on industry best practices, news and trends. The conference also boasts a trade show of over 300 vendors featuring new technology, operation suppliers and terminal service providers. Following the conference, ILTA provides continuing education opportunities through post-conference training sessions.
PPM Principal Zane Hood will participate as an instructor for “Introduction to Terminals”, a comprehensive overview of terminal facility operations and system components. The course will include an overview of the terminal industry as well as supply chain and operations, industry standards and regulatory compliance, tank design and maintenance, and facility equipment. This course is ideal for employees new to the terminal industry and for personnel who require a broad understanding of the industry.
Hood will provide instruction for the environmental and regulatory course components. Hood said, “Pipeline terminal managers and operators have an incredibly challenging job. Often times these personnel are caught in the crosshairs of complex air, water and waste issues that can have implications to their production plans.”
Hood continued, “The industry as a whole faces a mounting barrage of environmental regulations that can be confusing, challenging and that can create kinks in operations or production plans. This session is designed to summarize the key regulations that affect terminal managers and operators and provide key takeaways that will help them to stay on top of compliance issues and maintain a proactive approach versus a reactive approach.”
Other instructors for this course include CITGO Petroleum Corporation, Commander’s Terminal Services, HMT, Howard Energy Partners; ILTA, and Roberts Law Group.
